"We are Family" today and always....

Happy Saturday! So excited today! My kids are home for a visit this weekend and I haven't seen them in months.

Date night last night was great! Husband and I went to our favorite place for dinner. While we sat at the restaurant enjoying each others company we started to make out our guest list for the renewal ceremony and actually picked a solid date! The key here is we sat down face to face, planned together and had lots of laughs along the way. It was a great time and I truly felt he was not only invested in the process but excited about it and I couldn't have been more happy about it!

After dinner we were invited to a celebration at my sister's place with many other family members. I have to say, it feels so great to be getting out there living life a little at a time again! We had a great time just hanging with family and extended family laughing and catching up on what everyone had been up to. It made me realize just how much life I had been missing over the last several months. The only thing better about my visit with the family was knowing my daughter and her husband were on their way to our house and would be arriving soon. My daughter is expecting my first grand baby and I have really been missing her so much because as a mom I want to go through this journey with her.

I woke this morning feeling great knowing I had my kids in the house and was so happy I was about to spend the day getting to just enjoy my daughter. She decided to join me on my walk today and we each grabbed a dog and actually walked from the house to the park for a spin around the track and back home. I didn't want to wear her our because she is carrying my grandbaby. This walk was wonderful and even though I didn't do a bunch of thinking about my own circumstances it was just great to be hanging with my baby.

We spent some time shopping and bought some stuff for the baby and had a great time! It warms my heart to have them here and even more so to see her as a wife and soon to be mother, in my kitchen cooking the family dinner!

So tomorrow is Sunday dinner! We are expecting a bigger crowd and I couldn't be more excited to see how it all will work out. Turns out I really love having my house buzz with people having a great time! Even more though, I truly appreciate the fact that my family has also put in the effort to show up and just make time for each other. I think there is hope for all of us yet!

Lesson learned for the day: Always make time for your family and close friends and enjoy any time you can with them. We need to take every opportunity in this life to connect with those that we love. After all, they are the ones we call when we need lifted up and those we support during their times of need. Don't take family for granted, you never know when the connection with family is what will get us through the tough times in our lives and help us to keep moving forward.

Wishing you happiness and light!
Until Next time,
Laura D.
